Types of interaction The interaction between a teacher and a pupil The interaction between a pupil and a pupil The interaction between a teacher and a pupil The interaction between groups of pupils

The main rules of the use of an interactive smart board All pupils must participate; Active participation is encouraged by teachers; There mustn’t be more than 15 people in the group; The classroom must be prepared for the work with AN interactive board

The efficiency of the lessons with an interactive board When using the interactive board, pupils remember 90% of what they are doing during the lesson.

Why do we need the board The board can make the lesson better: You can make presentations, create models; It improves the understanding of grammar rules and communication topics; Pupils take active part. They like the work with the board. The board improves the planning of the lesson, its rate.

Kinds of activities Work with texts and images; Making notes on the board; Saving the notes for their further usage; Looking through Web-sites; Making tasks with the help of the models; presentations by the pupils.

Examples of activities: Work with texts (disappearing dialogue): - We need to go shopping. - I don't think so, we've got a lot of food here. - We don't have much milk or bread, and we don't have much water. - Oh, OK. Lets go shopping this evening.

- We need to go _______. - I don't think so, we've got a lot of______here. - We don't have much milk or______, and we don't have _____ water. - Oh, OK. Lets go _______this evening.

We need ____ go _______. I don't _____ so, we've ___ a lot _______here. We don't ____ much _______, and we ____ have _______. Oh, OK. Let’s __________ this _______.

Conclusions The use of an interactive board improves the teaching results; An interactive board can change the pupils’ attitude towards studying; With an interactive board teachers can use visual, audio and kinaesthetic means of education; Children learn to interact successfully; Children are interested and motivated to learn a foreign language.

If a child can't learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn.

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish and he will eat for a lifetime.
