Text Features Text Features are features of a selection that helps you read better. Bold words- look like the picture to the right and they help you with important words. Captions you can find them underneath pictures in a book or selection.

Charts like the one to the right is a text feature that you can find in books or in math class. Maps are also text features that you can find in a lot of books and road maps.

Italicized words are words that are slanted a little bit to tell you that word is important. Table of contents tells you were to find a certain thing in the book. Sources www.google.com/images
