Clean Air Act The draft year was 1970 was the most complex, comprehensive and costly environmental statue in existence. Amendment years 1977 and again in 1990. The 1977 Amendments primarily concerned provisions for the Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD) of air quality in areas attaining the NAAQS. The 1990 CAAA substantially increased the authority and responsibility of the federal government. Findings on National Air quality :1999 U.S Environmental Protection Agency

Clean Air Act The Clean Air Act is the law that defines EPA's responsibilities for protecting and improving the nation's air quality and the stratospheric ozone layer. The last major change in the law, the Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990, was enacted by Congress in 1990. Legislation passed since then has made several minor changes. The Air Quality Act of 1967 also authorized expanded studies of air pollutant emission inventories, ambient monitoring techniques, and control techniques. Ozone protection to protect public health and welfare from any actual or potential adverse effect which in the Administrator’s judgment may reasonably be anticipate.

Groups/Agency The EPA is responsible for the national air quality standards to protect the public health in America . States have the responsibility to insure compliance with the emissions standards by the EPA. The public is also responsible for following the act of the clean Air.
