AO4 – Investigate one e-commerce website You choose a website and describe its main features and benefits

Assessment Objective 4 - Investigate one e-commerce site It must be an e-commerce site e.g. on-line shop, booking site, auction site, music download site etc. Identify who is the site aimed at and what is its purpose Describe in your own words the services provided and include screen shots Include your own observations on how well the site works Describe how well you think the site meets its purpose Use correct terminology

Identify the website Name the website What is the purpose of the website? Is it to sell a wide range of CDs or to book cheap flights or to offer a specific service?

Who is the audience? Is it a specialist site or does it appeal to a specific age group or type of person?

Describe the features of the site Use the site – screen-print and write up your observations Homepage – first impression – how welcoming is it? navigation – how do I find what I want? Searching for what you want – how easily can I find it? Does it have additional information about the products/services e.g. customer reviews, ratings Buying your product/service – how easy is it? do you feel safe buying from this site? Additional information Summary (how well does the site meet its purpose?)

Points to remember Proof read your work – some of the grammar and spelling is awful Copying chunks of text from the internet is plagiarism (illegal) and will not get you any marks It must be your own work Use proper section headings and lay out your work neatly Number your pages and put your name in as a footer Don’t use text language e.g. “u” instead of “you”
