Acts 2 Acts 2:15-21 Setting: After Pentecost God pours His Spirit on all mankind vs. 17 Wonders in the sky above, Signs on the earth below, blood, fire and vapor of smoke vs. 19 Sun is dark Moon is blood vs. 20 ALL happens BEFORE the Great Day of the Lord From Acts 2 to the 6th Seal: BEFORE the Day of the Lord. AFTER that, there is a new “era”. Why?

I Thessalonians I Thess. 4:13-5:11 Rapture Sign of the Beginning We who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have “fallen asleep”. Dead in Christ rise first vs. 16 THEN: we who are alive and remain are caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord. COMFORT one another with these words vs. 18 Chapter 5 Now as the times and the epochs…. Day of the Lord Destruction, it will come like a thief; NO escape…..but not for believers

2 Peter 2 Pet. 3:1-13 LAST days, mockers will come, following their own lusts “Where is His coming?” “All continues just the same” vs.3-4 “As it was from the beginning of creation” and “World was destroyed by the flood” they give credence to the Creator! vs. 6 Heavens and earth will be destroyed by fire vs. 7 It will be a day of judgment for the ungodly vs.7 Comes like a thief vs. 10 NEW heaven and NEW earth vs. 13 THIS is the day of God vs. 12

Joel Joel 825-809 BC To Judah Joash is King, good, 7years old when he becomes king and he ordered the Temple to be repaired Prophesied of a locust plague Gnawing, swarming, creeping and stripping locusts NEVER anything like it before or since 2:2 Near 1:15; 2:1 Destruction from The Almighty 1:15 Darkness, gloom, clouds 2:2 Consuming, mighty people 2:5 Great, very awesome. Who can endure? 2:11

Joel 2:28-31 AFTER this, God pours forth His Spirit on all mankind 2:28-31 AFTER wonders in the sky and on earth AFTER blood, fire, smoke and darkness AFTER the moon turned to blood (6th Seal) 6th Seal: Day of the Lord comes AFTER It is a time when the nations will be judged 3:12 Sickle harvests and the wine press is tread 3:13 Wickedness 3:13 Blood is avenged 3:21

Obadiah Obadiah 841-825 To Judah Jehoram is wicked king and reigns 8 years. Married Ahab’s daughter, killed all his brothers. God smote him with a bowel disease. Then Joash becomes GOOD king. When Obadiah’s ministry ends, Joel’s begins Prophesied against Edom vs. 8 Day of Israel’s disaster vs. 13 Day of the Lord is coming on all nations vs. 15 As they have done, it will be done to them vs. 15 Edom/Esau will be destroyed by fire vs. 18 Kingdom will be The Lord’s vs. 21

Amos 5 Amos 767-755 To Israel Jeroboam II was a wicked king who reigned for 41 years. He is known for restoring Israel’s boundaries. Amos comes AFTER Jonah and BEFORE Hosea Amos 5 is a dirge/lamentation for Israel because they are facing judgment for their sins. Day of the Lord will be darkness and NOT light vs. 18 Unexpected vs. 19 Gloom with no brightness in it vs. 20

Isaiah 13 Isaiah 739-681 To Judah Jotham was a good king who reigned for 16 years. He devoted his ways before God. Hoshea was a wicked king who reigned in Israel for 9 years and was its final king. Captivity came in 722 Wail!!! For the Day of the Lord is destruction from the Almighty vs. 6 Darkness vs. 10 Day of God’s burning anger vs. 13 If you are found, you are killed by the sword vs. 15 No mercy vs. 16 & 18 No price can be paid vs. 17 No rescue for Babylon vs. 19-22

Application What will YOU, as part of the church, DO with this information? 2 Pet. 3:11 We are to be holy in conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God. We are looking for a New Heaven and a New Earth in which righteousness dwells. So, is the Day of GOD when we are living with Jesus in the New Heaven and New Earth; the end chapters of Revelation, AFTER the 1,000 year reign?
