Balance is Important How you do in one area will affect the other areas of your life. When you are more in tune with your goals (soul), it’s easier to focus on your studies (brain) and be more friendly (heart). It’s hard to be friendly (heart) when you’re exhausted (body). If you study and work too much it can affect your relationships If spend too much time laughing and playing around with friends it can affect your mental or physical health. Its like car tires – if one of them is going flat…it throws off the whole balance of the car

On a blank sheet of paper How I care for my body How I care for my brain How I care for my heart How I care for my soul As we go through each area – have students write down how they care for these areas of their lives.

Relax a Little Bit You need time to relax and treat yourself well. You won’t be able to do the other 6 habits if you don’t take time for yourself every now and then.

Caring for your Body Eat a good breakfast Relax in the bathtub Bike Lift weights Get enough sleep Practice yoga Play sports Take walks Stretch out Do an aerobics workout

Caring For Your Body You Are What You Eat! Be moderate – extreme eating habits can be unhealthy Kids should NOT be on diets! Your body is growing Eat a little junk food every now and then Eat more wheat bread, fruits, vegetables and dairy Eat less fast food, junk food and snacks full of sugar, salt and fat.

Exercise Our moods are better when we exercise It gives you energy, melts stress away and clears your mind There is no best way to exercise Sports Zumba Biking Swimming Walking Dancing

It’s All About How You Feel, Not How You Look Do not be obsessed with the way you look. Don’t compare yourself to the pictures of models or body builders in magazines – those are NOT REAL! You don’t have to have a perfect body to be happy and healthy “You have to change your perception. It’s not about weight – it’s caring for yourself on a daily basis.” ~Oprah Winfrey

Click on video to show how media changes real people into something that is not a real person. Dove Evolution Video

Caring For Your Brain Getting a good education is the most important price you can pay for your future. Develop your brain power through schooling, extra curricular activities hobbies, volunteering and other mind engaging activities.
