Story retold by Bev Evans Cinderella Story retold by Bev Evans

Cinderella’s stepmother made her scrub floors and keep the house clean Once upon a time there was a young girl called Cinderella Cinderella’s mother had died and her father had married a lady, with two spoilt daughters who did not like Cinderella

Everyone in the house became very excited! Sometimes Cinderella would dream about leaving home, but she never did. One day a letter arrived inviting all the young women in the land to a ball at the palace. Everyone in the house became very excited!

..help the others get ready. Unfortunately, Cinderella’s horrible stepmother told her she could not go to the ball. …iron the clothes and… ..help the others get ready. “Cinderella had to…

Cinderella’s stepsisters, who were quite ugly and very selfish, fussed around all day. Poor Cinderella was so tired that, when the others left for the ball, she fell to the floor and cried.

“I am your Fairy Godmother and I have come to help you “I am your Fairy Godmother and I have come to help you. Run to the garden and find a large pumpkin and six mice.” “Don’t cry, Cinderella,” said a voice behind her, “You shall go to the ball”

With a wave of her wand and a magic spell… Then the Fairy Godmother waved her wand again and… …the pumpkin and mice magically transformed into a carriage with footmen and horses! …Cinderella was wearing a beautiful gown and glass shoes.

She thanked the Fairy Godmother and set out for the palace. Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother then told her that everything would change back when the clock struck midnight. She thanked the Fairy Godmother and set out for the palace. Cinderella said she would not forget!

When Cinderella arrived the ball had already started. Everyone looked at Cinderella. She looked absolutely wonderful. Even her family did not recognise her! When Cinderella arrived the ball had already started.

Cinderella did not realise this was the Prince! The music was playing and soon a handsome man asked Cinderella to dance. Cinderella did not realise this was the Prince! She was having such a wonderful time that she forgot about the time. All too soon the clock began to strike.

The Prince tried to stop her, but it was too late. Cinderella ran away from the palace as quickly as she could! Then he saw a tiny glass shoe on the steps.

Cinderella did not notice her shoe had fallen off. Just as she got back to the road the clock struck for the final time and everything was back to the way it had been before.

The Prince was going to marry the girl whose foot fit the shoe! The next day everyone was talking about the beautiful young girl who had danced with the Prince. The Prince was going to marry the girl whose foot fit the shoe! The Prince had sent out a royal page with the tiny glass shoe – every young girl had to try it on.

…and it fitted perfectly. When the royal page arrived at Cinderella’s home she patiently waited to try on the shoe. …and it fitted perfectly. She now realised that the handsome man she had danced with was the Prince. Soon Cinderella and the Prince were married and they lived happily ever after. At last it was Cinderella’s turn to try on the shoe…
