Output In 2014, the Coast Guard issued over 81,000 Credentials and over 121,000 Medical Certificates. On an average day, the 17 Regional Examination Centers accept 526 applications. As of January 24, 2014, the Coast Guard began issuing medical certificates to each qualified mariner when processing an application that requires a medical evaluation (including original, raises-in-grade or renewal MMC). The Coast Guard will consider the valid period from the date they review the physical. One mission one team one voice

Post-Dating of Renewal Credentials www.uscg.mil/nmc iasknmc@uscg.mil 888-iasknmc Post-Dating of Renewal Credentials Post-dating of renewal-only credentials began March 24, 2014, replacing the “Delayed Issuance” Process Renewal MMCs are issued with a future date, determined by the expiration of your current credential: Option 1- the day following the date of expiration of the current MMC as long as the credential expires no more than 8 months in the future Option 2- 8 months from the application date if the credential expires more than 8 months in the future Post-dated credentials are not valid until the printed issuance date; mariners must carry the current credential until this date! Option to request immediate issuance of the renewal MMC (must be in writing) One mission one team one voice
