What is a public library? A public service, paid for by taxes and open to everyone in the community. A place with books, movies, music, and other things. A place for finding things and doing work. A meeting place.

What can you do at a public library? Borrow books, movies, CDs, and other things. Use a computer. Print, scan, or make copies of papers. Ask questions. Sit around. Hang out. Attend a program or event. See people.

Important reminders Return items on time. Don’t damage or lose library items. Ask for more time. Ask library staff for help.
