HEPTech Bootcamp Project and Plans for 2018

We all know what is HEPTech. HEPTech is a High-Energy Physics (HEP) Technology Transfer Network, created by CERN. More than 20 members across 17 countries. Including most of the major high energy physics research centers and infrastructures.

What tools? 1) Academia Industry Matching Events: Bringing researchers and industry together to engage and discuss synergies that can create opportunities 2) Sharing of Best Practices: Up skilling and sharing our individual knowledge with the collective, allowing all to learn from our experience!

But really… What is HEPTech?

Who HEPTech is? An energetic group of people that work together to make Technology Transfer better and easier for all of us.

Sharing of Best Practices It is vital for the sharing of knowledge around the network, allowing for TT Officers to meet and learn from each other, building up the relationships that what we call HEPTech. It is truly where HEPTech comes together.

HEPTech Bootcamp Three day training symposium for HEPTech members and external invitees Organised yearly, October/November/December Purpose of training and sharing of best practices filling gaps in the expertise of our members, and external invitees The HEPTech Bootcamp is a 3-day training activity organised yearly for HEPTech members and external invitees. The HEPTech Network has always aimed to improve and upskill its members in what regards Technology and Knowledge Transfer. HEPTech members have an extensive knowledge and experience in these topics, however it is through the training and sharing of this knowledge that we can uniform gaps in the specific expertise of each node.   The HEPTech Bootcamp has two main objectives: To allow for training, and upskilling of identified gaps in our members’ skillsets and/or staff, both experienced or newly appointed. The sharing of knowledge and best practices that allow for a better understanding of the KT and TT Landscape around the Network and Europe. As we also have always known, it is through our members’ enthusiasm and support that our Network has been successful. Our members are our strength, and it is through our interaction, and collaboration that we can foster the growth of HEPTech, ensuring our success. This is why Team Building and Networking amongst the Network is something that can be expected and fostered throughout the Bootcamp.
