“The Country Correspondents(CC) are the Vehicles through which ATAF engages with Members and therefore the CC contribution is invaluable.” To Maintain consistent & effective communication with ATAF The Timely provision of information to & from your administrations Clarification of the CC’s responsibilities, expectations and challenges that hinder their function Addressing the Key challenges regarding the Financial Sustainability of ATAF The value of ATAF’s interventions in dollar terms ( Each USD spent yields $800 additional revenue © African Tax Administration Forum (ATAF), All rights reserved.

To identify how Council and the Secretariat work better to build capacity in ATAF countries for DRM to fund development programmes To strengthen the operational capabilities within the Secretariat The CCs to assist in Key Technical Interventions i.e Support in the release of experts & identification of experts The CCs to share ideas on how to celebrate the 10th year anniversary Advise us how ATAF can better serve your countries and how you can assist in doing this © African Tax Administration Forum (ATAF), All rights reserved.

4 Action Points ATAF Secretariat
Strengthening the operational capabilities within the secretariat Increase stakeholder engagements & outreach to Members of parliament & policy makers Engaging regional blocs- look at common areas that ATAF can work together on Write to new governments and newly appointed CGs and inform them of ATAFs work and its impact The secretariat to continue to build programmes that are relevant to the member countries. The Secretariat to provide updates to CGs that are not on the council on all activities Look into using staff from other RA to provide training and internships Provisional Venues for trainings, workshops and conferences to be included in the calendar of activities. Reinstatement of Legal Counsel Network and HR Network Invite CGs to come and share their experiences and write to all CGs and ask them how they can assist ATAF. © African Tax Administration Forum (ATAF), All rights reserved.

5 Action Points ATAF Secretariat
Share information from the different technical committees via a communique Strengthen communication and media coverage of the Impact of ATAF work Develop documents summarising recommendations & conclusions from ATAF publications Use of Regional Training Centres to be increased (Nigeria & Tanzania) Look into organising and experience sharing workshop which include all member countries (Francophone and Lusophone) Increase focus on trainings for Lusophone countries and look into developing an EMT program in Portuguese Develop a strategy to increase Lusophone and Francophone participation in ATAF events Look into Developing a committee that deals with Tax Matters(tax campaigns, revenue collection, structure) Indicate required number of participants in activity calendar © African Tax Administration Forum (ATAF), All rights reserved.

ATAF to suggest countries which could host certain events To ensure the Sustained marketing of ATAF products Recovery of membership fees (self financing is a step toward minimising dependency on external financing) Emphasise participation costs of courses at the outset Explore options of establishing a consultancy arm of ATAF as an income stream © African Tax Administration Forum (ATAF), All rights reserved.

7 Action Points CCs CC’s to assist in obtaining the release of experts to participate & facilitate country programs Maintaining consistent & effective communication with ATAF Disseminating information of ATAF activities, workshops and trainings Timely provision of information to & from your administrations Quarterly reports to ATAF on areas of support and improvement. CC to take the activities calendar and provide options for hosting of ATAF events CCs to assist in ensuring that fees are paid timeously To provide ideas for ATAFs 10th anniversary CC’s to convey the message to their institutions that ATO needs data integrity and data availability to avoid the negative effects on the quality CCs should actively market ATAF technical products within their country CCs to send the key issues that they would like addressed to the Technical committees CC’s to assist in ensuring the minimum requirements of hosting an ATAF event is met. © African Tax Administration Forum (ATAF), All rights reserved.
