FAIRY TALES A fairy tale is a story featuring characters such as fairies, goblins, elves, trolls, giants and talking animals.

FAIRY TALES Like folktales, fairy tales have an oral tradition and they usually take place “long ago.”

FAIRY TALES Some authors still like to retell (Yeh-Shen & The Stinky Cheese Man) and invent new fairy tales.

Elements of a FAIRY TALE Special beginning and /or ending: Once upon a time…..They lived happily ever after. Good character & evil character Royalty or castle Magic happens Problem & solution Things often happen in “threes” or “sevens”
