How are we? Accidents, injuries and deats, Trends 2011 to 2015 In 2015, the Ministry of Health reported 16,039 deaths in road crashes, 1% more than in 2014. However, compared to 2010, the number of death in road crashes in 2015 decreased by 3.2%. Nearly seven out of ten deaths are vulnerable road users (pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists) The situation of motorcyclists is worrying; as compared to 2010, motorcycle deaths increased by 90% Compared to 2014, the largest increase in the number of motorcycle deaths corresponds to the age group of 20 - 39 years old http://www.milenio.com/tendencias/coche_inteligente-autonomos-raul_rojas-coche_autonomo_mexicano_0_613138909.html http://www.jornada.unam.mx/ultimas/2016/06/27/dona-alemania-diez-coches-autonomos-a-universidades-mexicanas The total cost of road accidents represents 1.9% of GDP Source: National Profile 2015; Ministry of Health.

Progress and coordination on the subject Recent measures Infrastructure The performance and condition of the federal highway network was assessed using the methodology of the International Road Assessment Programme (iRAP). Several important infrastructure improvement projects are being carried out, such as the attention of points of concentration of accidentes (black spots), improved intersections, installation of safety barriers, pedestrian crossings and bridges, bus stops, road marking and emergency braking ramps.
