You have received a job offer in Italy and are now planning to move there this summer. You must search the internet for a house within your budget ($750,000). Once you have found a house, you must then choose furniture for each of the rooms ($10,000 budget). You will also need to speak to the real estate agent over the phone, asking for more information about the rooms in the house, and explaining why you want to buy it. Once you have decided on purchasing the house, you will write an email to your parents telling them the good news and describing what you plan to do with the house once you move in. (How will you furnish the rooms? Will there be a garden? A garage? A gate? Etc)

Lunedi 10/3 Search online and find a house within budget. Screenshot the house and save the link. Write a paragraph explaining why you chose it. Location, type of house, number of rooms, etc

Martedi 10/4 Furnish your house. How many rooms are there? What’s in them? Use the internet to “purchase” furniture. Screenshot the shopping carts of your stores with your purchases. (Make a list of rooms, what’s in each one and why)

Mercoledi 10/5 What is the outside of the house like? Describe it in 3-5 sentences. Phone conversation with realtor: With a partner, take turns playing realtor and buyer. The realtor must ask questions like, “What are your plans for the house?” “What is your budget?” “When do you want to move in?” etc. The buyer must answer these questions and provide details of what they plan to do with the house (furniture, play room? Office? Etc)

Giovedi 10/6 You’ve received the good news that the owners have accepted your offer on the house. Write an email to your parents telling them the good news and explaining in detail your plans for the house once you move in.

La Fine Settimana – due Lunedi 10/10 Create a powerpoint presentation on everything we’ve done this week. Make sure to include: The screenshot of your house, price, and why you chose it. The rooms you will have and the furniture (including the screenshots of the shopping cart). Some of the questions/information discussed with the realtor. 5-7 bullet points on your plans for the house.
