Kindergarten Happenings Raezler Report The Kindergarten Happenings The week of November 10th Letter of the week Letter Cc Poem of the week Rake the Leaves Math Number Sense: counting, ordering and identifying numbers (especially #11-20) Patterns (Focus on ABC this week) Identifying and classifying 2D and 3D shapes Technology: Dreambox and Espark Literacy Reading: Nursery Rhymes and informational text Language: Focus on syllables and vowels Writing: Sentence structure Centers: Matching beginning sounds, Thanksgiving labeling activity, rhyming and B/T word sort Science Force and Motion: We will explore the force of gravity and how it affects life on earth. Important Dates to Remember Wednesday, Nov. 12th; Thursday, Nov. 13th: Parent-Teacher Conferences (HALF DAY on THURSDAY) THIS WEEK: Scholastic Book Fair (our class will be shopping on Wednesday during Media Center time OR family shopping night on Nov. 12 from 3:30-6:30) Tuesday, November 18th: Scholastic Book Orders Due Online (Class Code: MF49C) Reminders Fresh fruit or vegetable snack ONLY! Pick up and drop off will take place outside of my classroom doors. If I am not at my door at dismissal, I will be at the flagpole located in the front of the school until all students are picked up. Library books are due TOMORROW in order for our class to be ready to check out by Wed. Homework Homework assignments will be sent home Mondays with my weekly newsletters and due back by Friday. Please continue to work on letter and sound identification with your child on a daily basis. Sight Word Folders: (Given out at parent-teacher conferences) First due back Friday, 11/21, then every Friday thereafter. Please study words at home with your child so they are ready to be tested each week and moving up to a new level. This week’s homework is attached. Due 11/14 Dear Parents, I enjoyed meeting with many of you on Thursday for conferences, and I am looking forward to talking with the rest of you this week.
