Political Parties Splinter Northern & Southern democrats disagreed about slavery in the parties platform. Platform – statement of beliefs N. Democrats nominated Douglas S. Democrats nominated John Breckinridge Republicans nominated Lincoln.

What do you think? Since there were two Democratic candidates, how do you think the election came out? Please write your answer in your notes.
