Welcome to back-to-school night

Who am I? I am a mom of three very active children. I am a Penn State Graduate, and Blue Band Alumni. I am a 20 year teaching veteran.

Course overview On the first day of school the students were provided with a course overview. For purposes of conservation, I have not recopied the overview… if you would like a personal copy it is available on my website posted under the Back-to-School Night section.

Topics covered Classification of Matter Solubility Atomic Theory Acids and Bases Periodic Law Reaction Kinetics Bonding Equilibrium Reactions Thermochemistry States of Matter and More!

Important Class Conduct Policies The student handbook outlines several policies about dress code, lateness, etc. These will be followed accordingly. Policies regarding absence are also thoroughly outlined. Some Important thoughts: Labs Tests / Reviews Other Late Work

Grading Policy The grading policy, including penalties, the types of assignments experienced, etc. are thoroughly outlined in the course overview. Some Important Thoughts: 75% of the grade is derived from “assessments” Writing Assignments No Extra Credit! Academic Integrity Council Rock Assessment
