1st Totton Girls’ Brigade Supporting

Why Water Aid? WaterAid works specifically on the WASH crisis: water, sanitation and hygiene. Our vision is of a world where everyone has access to safe water and sanitation. Every year, around 60 million children are born into homes without access to sanitation. Diarrhoea is the second biggest killer of children under five years old worldwide. At any given time, nearly half the people in the developing world are suffering from one or more of the main diseases associated with dirty water and inadequate sanitation such as diarrhoea, guinea worm, trachoma and schistosomiasis.

What do we use water for at Girls’ Brigade each week? Imagine if there were no toilets in this building. Imagine if there was no fresh water to drink, wash your hands or wash up with.

This is the reality for many children and young people attending school everyday. Without clean water they are risk of infection and disease making it hard to be fit to attend school and change their lives for the better

Thank You With your help, we have already raised £65 through the Smartie tube collection at Easter for Water Aid. £15 enables one person to access a lasting supply of safe water, improved hygiene and sanitation

1st Totton GB Supporting WaterAid We will be looking to support WaterAid for the rest of this year. If you have an idea for an event that can help us raise some money next term, please let us know! Thank you
