Waiting list blitz Set start date Need 3 months for transition Have quick and easy summary form Example CAPA to start 1st December CAPA patients from 1st October will be seen in Choice from 1st December & Partnership from 1st February Waiting list blitz to start 1st October Waiting list patients seen between 1st October and 1st December & Partnership from 1st December

How many slots do you need? Write to those waiting over 10 weeks to request opt in Add to those referred less than 10 weeks Example, Steve’s team families on waiting list 223 Asked 162 waiting over 10 weeks to opt in: 66 Waiting less than 10 weeks 61 Slots needed over next 8 weeks 66+ 61 = 127 Slots found 123 So initially plan for 50% of those on Waiting list will attend initial contact.

How did they find slots? Allowed clinicians to offer what they could All owned the process Offered any spare slot Easier as someone else would see in Partnership Partnership slots were calculated according to individual capacity

Outcome, Steve’s team 127 slots needed 123 slots found 93 booked appointment 85 came 24 closed after one appointment 6 referred elsewhere 1 professional consultation 54 needed Partnership 223 on waiting list turned into 54 needing treatment i.e. 24% Took 3 ½ months
