1 Priory Fields Patient Participation Group Survey December 2011

2 Priory Fields Patient Survey Priory Fields surgery carried out a patient survey in conjunction with Priory Fields Patient Participation Group (PPG) It was an opportunity for the patients to ask patients the questions they really wanted to ask. This survey was designed by a small working group from the PPG to measure patients satisfaction with the services Priory Fields provides. 500 questionnaires were given out to patients in paper copy and by email, and the responses were collated and put in to the following graph format. From the results the main areas for improvement were patients getting through to the surgery on the telephone and having same day access to their doctor or treatment from a nurse. To achieve the improvements required we have implemented, with discussion and agreement from the PPG, a new appointment system which gives the opportunity initially of speaking with the doctor or nurse, and then if required come down to the surgery to be seen. This is a very different way of working and it is not until the service is used that patients realise how easy and convenient it is to access their doctor. The surgery will be carrying out patient satisfaction surveys over the coming months to gain patients views and opinions of this new service. If you have any immediate comments or questions please contact Moira Cernik, Managing Partner by email moira.cernik@nhs.net inmoira.cernik@nhs.net writing, or by calling in or telephoning the surgery; your views are always welcome
