(Learning and Serving Together) L.A.S.T. (Learning and Serving Together) www.lastnw.com

What is L.A.S.T.? L.A.S.T. is a week long service learning/mission project that helps youth participate in community service projects and reflect on that service in light of their Christian faith.

Where is L.A.S.T. located? We currently have 3 mission trip sites, Portland, Seattle and Eugene, OR

What kind of service projects will we participate in? During your week at L.A.S.T. you will experience something new every day.

At some projects you will work behind the scenes and get your hands dirty * Making 2500 lunches for a free lunch program * working in a community garden * building a gravel path in a school courtyard

At other work sites you will be building relationships with people in need. * helping to distribute food boxes to the homeless * reading to children in the park * preparing and serving food at a community meal * and lots more!

Every day you will get a chance to make a difference in someone’s life and hopefully find a way of serving that you are passionate about.

What do we do in the evenings? Each evening the staff at L.A.S.T. will lead you in a curriculum designed to help you connect your faith to your service.

‘s More Q:Where do we sleep? A: In a local church. Q: Meals? A: L.A.S.T. staff buys the food and prepares the meals with your help. Q: Showers? A: We take showers at a local pool. You might even get to go swimming.

What about the L.A.S.T. staff? Rev. Jeff Lowery is the founder and director of L.A.S.T. Jeff is an Ordained Deacon in the United Methodist Church. In addition to running L.A.S.T. Jeff is a songwriter and musician and many of his songs are a part of the L.A.S.T. curriculum. Check out his music at www.jefflowerymusic.com

What about free time? There are plenty of opportunities to have fun. Typically each day there will be some down time in the afternoon. One evening during your week your group will get to go out to explore your host city. See the sights, have some fun and eat dinner together. The L.A.S.T. staff can provide you with lots of great free night suggestions.

Q: Will we get to meet other youth? A: Most weeks will include more than one Church

Q: Who can participate? A: L.A.S.T. can be tailored for youth 6-12 grade and beyond and is open to all denominations. We ask that one adult sponsor accompany every six youth who make up the group.

For the summer of 2017 the current rates are $245 per person. How much does it cost? For the summer of 2017 the current rates are $245 per person. L.A.S.T. begins after dinner on Sunday night and ends before lunch on Friday. Everything is included during the week except your free night dinner and activities. Each groups needs to have enough transportation for each of their members.
