1 The Strategy team will be thinking about all our activities and helping ensure that we work to our vision. They’ll mix in with everything else to help people be focussed and to ensure we don’t overdo one thing or miss something important. It may mean partnering with the deacons in decision making.

2 Serious Bible Stuff is about getting deeply engrossed in the Bible
Serious Bible Stuff is about getting deeply engrossed in the Bible. This might mean a Bible School or Bible College style module system. It might mean taking responsibility for reading and memorising Scripture, reading other theology, presenting your findings and taking responsibility for your own depth of faith.

3 The Children’s programme is about meeting the needs of children in our church and community. It might mean messy church, a ‘kids and parents together’ programme, Sunday School, creche, providing support to families with children and maybe even providing education in parenting and family life.

4 Singing old hymns is about enjoying the rich heritage of Christian hymnody. It might lead to leading worship together in church, starting a choir or monthly event (that might include other churches) or help take visits to Invereck.

5 We need to ensure that prayer is given a high place in our church services. This is about ensuring we give a significant time to prayer in services and how we draw people into that process.

6 Street outreach is about being ‘out there’ on the streets of our town
Street outreach is about being ‘out there’ on the streets of our town. It might mean giving gifts, street pastoring, offering prayer or giving leaflets. How do we make ourselves available and make Jesus known? Can we help out in real ways that evidence that Jesus is alive?

7 We need a plan for how we let other people know about Jesus
We need a plan for how we let other people know about Jesus. This might mean organising bi-monthly events, running cafe church, deciding on Alpha Courses or other events that tell people about Jesus or creating literature or social media raising up Jesus’ name in our community.

8 Men’s get together is about bringing men together who often find the social side of our community lacking. It might mean regular events or trips, Bible-centred or fellowship events for men in our town.

9 Fellowship events might include fellowship days like the one we had in September, fellowship meals or trips away or even weekends. These evens should help us know one another and bring a sense of unity.

10 We need to be more effective in how we communicate and use media
We need to be more effective in how we communicate and use media. This might mean updating our website and facebook, adding helpful content, publicising events and getting media produced and letting people know what is on in the church and town. It might mean being the person people go to for information or doing announcements.

11 Our God is a God who heals and we want to provide opportunities for people to know this. It might mean healing services, offering prayer for healing events or offering prayer on the streets. It might just mean being available after services or more.

12 The prayer life of the church needs improving
The prayer life of the church needs improving. We might pray individually but not enough together. This is about prayer events or weeks, regular times or one-offs, organising and planning and getting people enthused about communicating with God.

13 Young people need encouraged towards maturity in their faith
Young people need encouraged towards maturity in their faith. This might mean a youth home group, running the drop in on a Saturday, being part of youth fellowship or youth club, supporting Kyle or doing youth discipleship.

14 There are many isolated people in the community
There are many isolated people in the community. This might mean meeting up for little coffee times, bringing Christians and non-Christians together, doing little programmes to get people busy or running events for isolated people to be part of.

15 Partnering might mean visiting and being with missionaries, doing missions teams or projects. It also might mean praying for them, writing to, ing or keeping in touch with them and making sure they get invited to the church to be part of things. Our mission board needs updated.

16 Connecting with the community might mean asking the council or community groups what is needed, being part of community council or groups, attending and being part of the groups that use the church or meeting some other need the community has. It is often about communicating and opening doors.

17 Practical help might mean doing things in church, helping with repairs or cleaning or food needs at programmes. It also might mean doing this for other people, doing work in their homes or gardens, providing services or lifts for people who are less able.

18 Hospitality is about bringing people into your space and making them at home. It might mean doing meals for people, having visitors stay or providing help and supporting to visiting teams like the Royal Servants.

19 Developing leaders might mean helping young people grow in their faith, discipling, encouraging people to take on leadership roles, help with getting in, the life college or other development programmes or providing practical support for those who want to develop as leaders.
