Community Partners East and South East Scotland will have 5 community partners; 2 Mental health partners 2 Young people partners 1 Pan disability partner

What will Community Partners do? Support development of a comprehensive menu of local support for people with a health condition or disability, Provide advice and support for DEAs by providing valuable insight into disability and the impact this can have on employment, Identify local specialist provision to support people with a health condition or disability Support engagement with employers and provide advice on access needs and Access to Work. This is the official line from the Enhanced Support Offer Not about only working with existing partners but finding new ones and using the CP’s work experience and lived knowledge of disabilities and long term conditions.

What will Community Partners do? Provide expert and or lived knowledge and experience of health condition or disability Take part in case conferences suggesting possible interventions Support Employer Engagement staff to overcome barriers to engaging with employers Use their expert knowledge and networks to enhance the roles of DEA’s, EA’s, WC’s and SEA’s

How do we do this? Be visible, accessible and responsive, build awareness Communication Work collaboratively with; employers, DEA’s, SEA’s, Disability Confident, WC’s and providers Sharing knowledge and good practice from CP’s through building a CP network Learning and development support for staff Support training Enhance understanding of disabilities and health conditions We need to be known to all the people with a vested interest in what we are doing and be accessible and responsive (this can involve supporting to find information and support for people) to the challenges and the needs of customers, employers and partner organizations. We have WC’s in post and we need to ensure that we utilize and develop the skills and knowledge that we already have at our disposal Build on the experience of customers

What does success look like? DEAs have insight into how specific disabilities can affect claimants ability to move into employment DEAs have an increased confidence to actively support Work Coaches and provide the necessary training DEAs have the confidence to advise Work Coaches to action complex cases Work Coaches have an increased knowledge of disability and the effects it can have on employment Work Coach understanding of local provision is strengthened and they have the confidence to refer claimants to disability specific provision Effective learning pathways, work experience and training opportunities developed for claimants A network of District mentors developed to offer tailored coaching and advice Increase in the number of joined up and tailored local provision to support claimants Increase in the number of local organisations providing specific support and working with JCP Community Partners National Network developed and actively sharing learning, best practice and information on service provision available Small Employer Advisors are confident to engage with employers and put in place packages of support for employers and employees with a health condition or disability Employers have a better understanding of disability issues and are offering more job opportunities
