Compare and order decimals (3-3). Objective Compare and order decimals (3-3).

Steps Read all directions!!!!!!! Write problem. Line up the numbers. Remember, decimals should always line up. Add zeros in order to have the same # of place-value positions.

Steps Con’t. Start at the left and compare the digits. The decimal with the greater digit is the largest decimal. You will be comparing 2 or more #’s at a time. Be sure to read your directions when comparing more than 2 #’s.

Examples Which is greater, 2.033 or 2.037? Line up the decimals and compare digits. 2.033 2.037 Answer: 2.033 < 2.037

Which is greater, 3.0487 or 3.045? Line up the decimals and compare digits. 3.0487 3.045 Answer: 3.0487 > 3.045

Order from least to greatest. 389.426, 389.4, 389.42, and 389.342 Line the decimals up and compare digits. Answer: 389.342, 389.4, 389.42, 389.426

Class work Complete Sheets and turn in all work at the end of class. *****Homework: Practice (3-3) in workbook
