2 Step 1: Identify the place you are rounding to, and place a circle around it. Rounding Decimals

3 Step 2: Underline the number to the right of the circled decimal place Rounding Decimals

4 Step 3: If underlined digit is greater than or equal to 5, then round the circled number up (add one) 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 Rounding Rounding Decimals +1

5 Step 4: If underlined digit is less than or equal to 4, leave the circled number the same 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 Rounding Decimals =

6 Remember  Keep everything before the circle. Everything after the circle becomes zero. If the zeroes come at the end of a decimal, they can be dropped

7 Try these: 1)Round 1.05 to the nearest tenth 2) Round 0.123 to the nearest tenth Rounding Decimals
