To write the percent as a decimal you must divide the percent by 100 ( OR you can just move the decimal point two places to the left. )
For example: Write 7% as a decimal

The work: You have to divide 7 ÷ 100.
The trick: when dividing by 100 all you have to do is move the decimal point two places to the left.
Answer: 7% = 0.07

3. Examples:
Write each percent as a decimal. 8%
54%
85.2%

4. To write the decimal as a percent…
The work: Multiply the decimal by 100 and add a percent sign.
The trick: All you have to do is move the decimal point two places to the right and add the % sign.
For example: Write 0.4 as a percent.
0.4 = 0.40 = 40 %
