Order and position of adjectives

Sometimes we use two or more adjectives together: Tom lives in a big new house.

Very often, we put adjectives in this order: = size e.g. big long small = age e.g. young old Very often, we put adjectives in this order: = colour e.g. red black blue e.g. bag ball man = material e.g. cotton plastic 1 how big? 2 how old? 3 what colour? 4 where from? = origin e.g. Chinese Japanese French 5 what is it made of? NOUN

1 how big? 2 how old? 3 what colour? 4 where from? 5 what is it made of? a tall young man 1  2 a large wooden desk 1  5 an old English song 2  4 big black eyes 1  3

Put the adjectives in brackets in the correct position. E.g. a beautiful table (wooden) a beautiful wooden table 1. an American film (old) ____________________ 2. a nose (red, large)
