Factory Farming is Inhumane Allison Clark 04/24/17

What is it? Factory Farming involves inhumane practices which are extremely cruel and should never be done to any living creature. These farming systems maximize their profits by torturing these animals and showing no pity. The practices are done yearly on tons of animals including pigs, chickens, cows and many more farm animals. The animals are shoved in such confined spaces that they can barely move or breathe while they are exposed to diseases.

Why it affects me? This is a wrong-doing in my opinion and I feel like it should be illegal to do. Animals should not be treated like this just because a farmer wants their meat. The truth is that there is no such thing as a “happy” factory farm animal- even the supposedly “ethically treated” animals. I want to fix this because no animal should ever have to go through something like this especially without any pain meds to ooze the pain away. This needs to stop before the worse comes.

Is This Wrong

Pigs Shoved in cages that are cold and have concrete floors So stressed that they bite other pigs Farmers jam gate rod to force them to move

Cows Fed Steroids then slaughtered for meat Hung upside down Throats cut Drowned in Hot Water Confined to battery powered shocking cages

Chickens Shackled upside down Paralyzed by electrified water Dragged over mechanical throat-cutting blades Millions of birds each year miss the blades and drown in tanks of scalding water.

Inhumane Farms Employees dismembered body parts off animals without painkillers Over 10 billion animals annually are killed for meat in the U.S.A alone 70% of the world's farming pollution is because of inhumane farming practices
