CARA 3.10 Major New Features Summary Description Subscriptions / Notifications Added ability to subscribe to folders. When a folder is subscribed, the user receives notifications when any document in that folder is changed Ability to use locale variable in Advanced Search field query In Advanced Search configuration there is now an option to define a DQL for an attribute. Added the ability to use ${locale} variable in it which is replaced with the user selected locale (based on the login screen) Script Library Importing Currently every script library is imported to every script which makes troubleshooting complex and impacts performance. Now you can control which ones it is imported to. Audit Creation Scripts Added ability to configure an audit creation script in Audit Configuration which is executed during audit creation so the dm_audittrail can even be updated/customised before creation Creating / Importing If there is only one value, the Create / Import dialogue now pre-selects the classification automatically Task Script – Advanced processing when user access is temporary Currently the task script executed during task completion doesn’t allow executing advanced processing like state changes when a user has been granted only temporary access to the document. Such processing is now allowed

Ability to use different Notification Templates per Task Template CARA 3.10 Major New Features Summary Description Tasks as Packages Workflow package functionality has been finalised in this version Staging Area Preview Added the ability to preview a document in the Staging Area via the Preview Panel or context-sensitive Preview menu item. Ability to use different Notification Templates per Task Template Added the ability to use an email notification per task template. By default the standard email template is used (Issued, Delegated, Completed, etc.) located in the notification/en folder. Added ability to use a dedicated template per Task Template. So when a Notification Template exists with the preceding Task Template name, <task_template_name> - <notif_template_name>, e.g. ’Author – Completed’, then it is used instead of the standards notification template

CARA 3.10 Major New Features Item Description Lifecycle configuration– version documents before state changes Added a new option in Lifecycle configuration – version the document before change state. Also modified the Status Manager dialog to refresh the object to the new version when necessary Lifecycle configuration – validation script Added ‘Validation Script’ tab and script field to the lifecycle transition configuration dialog Terms and Conditions Modified ‘terms’ processing work and added cara.xml configuration to control it: ‘Terms’ section with options Header: custom dialog header, ’Terms and Conditions’ by default Format – TEXT or HTML depending on the file format file_path_relative and file_path_absolute depending on which path is used – relative to the webapp or absolute. display_before_login: whether the message is displayed on every CARA URL access (a user cannot mark it as read and hide it) Workflow Force workflow to completion

CARA 3.10 Major New Features Item Description Task Manager – Removing last recipient ’Force to Completion’ added Dashboards – define Add button based on object type Dashboard Report – add ability to define New Item button based on defined object type that opens a new document screen, similar to the New Item Shortcuts. Add a new ’New Item’ tab. When defined, a new button on the dashboard report should be displayed allowing creation of the object. Portal User Experience based on Dashboards Added a new User Experience named Portal. It is available to be configured as default in cara.xml. There is also an option to disable it and change the label to something else. When selected, it offers all Dashboards marked as ‘Available in Portal’. The first one should be displayed and the others should be available under Dashboard button.

Dimensions & Snaplists Popular Existing Features Dimensions & Snaplists Widgets Document Views Build your own tree view – choose any properties and browse documents in a different way (Dimensions) or create a tree from complex queries for users to navigate Extensible panel showing widgets – choose from core set (e.g. properties, renditions) or create your own, linking in any web service as a widget Define different views for different user groups / usage scenarios – completely personalised view and set of features User Experiences User Preferences Configuration Give users varying functionality and complexity, from simplicity (no toolbars, no folder tree) to high functionality (multi-window multi-tasking) and everything in between All settings (column displays and widths, dimensions, filters, and so on) are saved for each user. The user can log in anywhere on any machine and the same settings are applied. Configure every aspect of the user interface as well as business roles like dynamic security, folder paths, data dictionaries, numbering, naming etc. All without customisation and cost.
