Taiga

Climate Characteristics Winters are long, dark , and cold with lots of snow Summers are warm and short Daylight can be up to 20 hours long Temperature range is between -65 degrees to 70 degrees Average annual precipitation is 12 to 33 inches

Animals and plants some animals that live in the taiga are lynx , wolverine , bob cat, mink, ermine, vole, and elk . Some plants in this area are Balsam Fir , Black spruce , Douglas Fir , Eastern Red Cedar , Siberian spruce , White fir , and Paper birch

Unique Geography pine trees are the dominate species in this area Mountainous Mild temperatures lots of snow temperatures can change from one extreme to another

Other Unique Factors Fires are very common to rid the area of old and sick trees since evergreen trees don’t drop leaves there's nothing to keep the soil full of nutrients For six months out of the year temperatures are below freezing

Living conditions Cold long winters , wich would result in poor conditions during the winter to live Summer temperatures are mild which would be cozy to live in during the summer could feed off of the red deer and other many animal resources
