Instructor Revalidations Following five years Instructors must revalidate their qualification. To revalidate the qualification and maintain currency the Instructor shall meet the following requirements: Hold a current First Aid Certificate Pay their annual Instructor fee to Australian Sailing Complete the General Instructor principals online module Read and sign an Instructors Code of Behavior Have been an active Instructor over the five years (based on courses recorded in myCentre reporting) Provide evidence of competency as an Instructor by one of the following: Be assessed by a Senior Instructor Attend the assessment day of an Instructors Course (in their specific qualification) Provide video evidence of conducting a session signed off by an Accredited Centre Principal. Annual Renewal Fee This annual fee includes: Support from Australian Sailing Professional development opportunities throughout the year A quarterly instructor newsletter keeping you up to date on all areas of instructing/coaching within the Australian Sailing programs Instructor Liability Insurance and Centre Public Liability Insurance. Maintaining Instructor currency provides you with liability Insurance whilst delivering Australian Sailing Programs or Course at an accredited Centre. Your Centre will hold Public Liability Insurance as a condition of being accredited with Australian Sailing, but as a current qualified Australian Sailing Instructor you are also covered under the Australian Sailing Policy against public liability matters that might arise against you personally, again Only if you are delivering an Australian Sailing Course at an accredited Discover Sailing Centre.
