AVID What makes a good leader/role model? What do you think AVID stands for?

AVID Advancement Via Individual Determination High- level thinking, pushing oneself Via By means of… Individual Self-motivation and responsibility Determination Wanting to succeed

Do you plan on going to College? Are you interested in improving yourself and being able to help your friends? If you are willing to work hard in order to get prepared for College, AVID may be a class for you!

What is AVID all about? In AVID we will teach how to take Cornell notes in your classes and use them to study better. We learn how to critically think and work together in tutorial groups twice a week. Weekly binder checks help you stay on the right track towards organization. Even though Avid may be a lot of work… we still have fun! - fun Fridays: making ice cream (from scratch), and playing team-building games.

How Does AVID keep you organized? Who in here has ever spent time digging in there backpack trying to find a homework assignment? Do you ever feel that your materials get misplaced? “I know that math paper is in here somewhere!”

AVID will get YOU organized! Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to open up your binder and know that you will find exactly what you are looking for, right when you need it? AVID will get YOU organized!
