Objective of the poll day monitoring system Project Overview Objective of the poll day monitoring system Computerized tracking of the election process with the critically important objective of being able to take timely action in real time. It is an ‘Event based management system’ – from the time of dispatch till the time of deposition of election material after return of parties. CEO Perspective SMS is a very easy and convenient technology that can be used for a wide range of applications. Existing Election Personnel Deployment System EPDS application has been used in districts since last four assembly and constituency elections for computerization of random deployment of polling personnel according to the ECI norms. Under this application all data of department and offices has been fed by operators under OC personnel supervision. After data processing activities like duty exemption and duty rank assignment randomization of polling personnel has been done in three steps under supervision of observer. After freezing on each step of randomization polling personnel training order, polling personnel duty order and different reports has been generated for successfully commencement of election.

Present Poll Day Monitoring System Mobile phones of RO, ARO, Sector Magistrate, Presiding Officer and Polling Officer-1 are to be registered with a given mobile number on P-3/P-2/P-1 day. To reflect poll process related data in CEO website and better monitoring at all levels, Presiding Officers must send SMS related to the poll activities in his Polling Station, using prescribed syntax. Presiding Officers should send the SMS on mentioned time and intervals positively.

Present Poll Day Monitoring System Presiding Officers should type the syntax of the SMS as prescribed and should not construct their own. Presiding Officers should be careful enough while sending Law & Order related SMS. The Final Voter turn out report is mandatory and turnout data should match the data written on Presiding Officer’s dairy. Sector Officers will be responsible for non-registration of PO/PO-I and they will ensure registration by P-1 day positively. All will receive confirmation messages after successful registration RO/ARO/SO will receive exception SMS on non-receipt of SMS from the Presiding Officers.
