Who we are The Louisiana Recycling Coalition is a membership based network of individuals and representatives from government, industry, and non-profit entities that support environmental stewardship through materials reduction, reuse, and recycling in Louisiana.

Mission statement The Louisiana Recycling Coalition provides advocacy, information, technical support, networking, and educational opportunities for and about recycling in partnership with local, state, regional, and national organizations.

Founding the Louisiana Recycling Coalition background Founding the Louisiana Recycling Coalition Inaugural meeting at last year’s KLB Conference We listened to YOUR thoughts on how to improve recycling in our state We modeled our organization’s structure after the feedback you shared with us

Current committees Working Committees: Future Work: State Policy Recycling Infrastructure Industry Development Education Future Work: Rural Parish Recycling Economic Information

State Policy Committee Works with state agencies to improve reporting and measurement for state- wide diversion rates.

Recycling Infrastructure Committee Researches current recycling metrics (tonnages, distance traveled, etc.) to set goals and find appropriate technology to warrant new and more localized MRFs, transfer stations, and hauling contracts.

Industry development committee Supports and reports upon the establishment of end market processors for recyclable commodities.

Education Committee Shares Louisiana specific recycling educational material which includes information on where, how, and what to recycle.
