Curban Bayram - is the most important holiday in Crimean Tatars life Curban Bayram - is the most important holiday in Crimean Tatars life. In this day everybody should do ritual ablution and have to wear clean and festive clothes. Men go to the mosque and have a holiday pray.

Women cook tasty traditional dishes, cakes, deserts and meet guests Women cook tasty traditional dishes, cakes, deserts and meet guests. There is no exact date of the holiday each year because it depends of calendar cycle. Everyone must congratulate older people. This day is always full of gifts and sweets.

There is much music and dancing on this day and everybody is happy!

WEDDING ceremonies of Crimean Tatars are very colourful and wealthy and of course have ancient traditions.

The other pre-wedding period of the wedding ceremony includes several stages: the first matchmaking is «cèze Kasim» the second matchmaking is «Nishan».

"Cèze, Kasim"- the parents of the guy with matchmakers come to the girl's house, where they are already waited by the girl's family. "Nishan" — is the day of exchanging the gifts and discussing and planning the wedding day.

The day before the wedding the bride has a special ceremony calls «The Henna night». At this night bride’s friends usually gather at her home and draw at bride’s palms different pictures and patterns. It look’s amazing. They also draw pictures on others girl’s palms with the rest of henna with wishes of quick marriage.

On the day of wedding there is very important step of Crimean Tatars marriage- «Nikah». In other words it is a marriage that should be at mosque. Only Mullah holds the whole ceremony. He asks the bride three times if she would marry and then once asks the groom if he agrees to marry.

In the evening a real holiday starts with traditional dishes and dances. The whole evening guests dance and give money to the musicians.

At the end of night there is a very important dance of bride and groom with their parents called “Haytarma”.

In the morning the mother of the groom meets the bride and gives her an expensive gift (usually it is a jewelry). The young woman makes “A traditional coffee from the bride” and treats all guests. And the bride becomes a wife and a hostess at her husband’s house.
