5. The Order of Korean Wedding Ceremony
The moderator announces that the ceremony will begin after 5 minutes and tell the bride and groom’s friends and family to gather around in the ceremony place. The groom will be getting ready to enter the room.
The officiator will introduction him/herself to everyone.
The groom’s and the bride’s mother will come up to the front and light up the moth (single-phase candle).
The groom will enter to the front and stand in front of the officiator and bow and come to the right side and get ready to welcome the bride when she comes in.
Then, the bride will enter slowly with her parents when the music is played. She must hold her parents hand with left hand and hold her dress with right hand, to not step on the dress. When the bride arrives to the front, the groom should bow to the bride’s parents and move in front of the officiator with the bride grabbing her hand.
The bride and the groom will then face each other at a certain distance. Then, they bend their waist and politely sit down. After greeting, they turn and look back to the officiator.
The officiator will read the marriage pledge and ask the bride and groom in turn. Then the officiator will read out the ‘Marriage Gate’.
The officiant will say officiant's message.
Then, the bride and or the groom and or the visitors have the song to sing, they will. If not, they will not.
The parents of the two side will bow to each other.
They will say good bye to the visitors and walk slowly out of the place.
They inform the ending of the wedding ceremony.
They take a photograph of each other.
Then, finish the ceremony, and go home.
