FWC and Saltwater Hatcheries Pensacola facility will be the first production scale saltwater hatchery in FL FWC has operated a saltwater research hatchery in Manatee County for 25 years

Project Location Approximately 5.5 acres

Essential Project Elements Produce ~ 5 million 1-1.5 inch fish annually for stocking Recirculating aquaculture system targets 80% water re-use Intake from the bay for make up water (land-based pumps) Settling pond and man-made saltmarsh for effluent treatment Education and Conservation Programming for the public
