Proposed Elevator Speech Confirmed January 2016 Boise Sunrise Rotary? We are energetic, welcoming, morning Rotarians who embrace ethics and service here and abroad. Come experience good times at Sunrise!

Club Size To have 80 active members 2016-2020 implementing steps: 80 active members Examine current members’ classifications and identify classifications needed to strengthen club Recruit for identified classifications Recruit from within businesses that will financially support a new member

Focus on interesting, quality programs and well run meetings FOR WHAT DOES THE CLUB STAND To become the club known as the champion of children via collaboration, support for families and leveraging programs 2016-2020 implementing steps: Continue to staff, strengthen and coordinate all standing committees focusing on youth services Budgetary and service priority given to supporting youth-oriented projects Hope House Everyday Youth Leadership International service and exchange programs Century Scholars Dictionary Focus on interesting, quality programs and well run meetings

Quarterly fellowship outings Club Service and Family of Rotary To increase participation of Rotarians and their families in fellowship events and enhance the operations of the club 2016-2020 implementing steps: Improve internal communication to our members about what our club is doing Quarterly fellowship outings Establish a club photographer to take photos at every meeting/event/project Establish a robust Facebook page Reach out to younger members through increased use of social media Encourage attendance at other clubs

COMMUNITY SERVICE To increase the club’s outreach to the community through service projects 2016-2020 implementing steps: At least 95% of the members participate in at least one community service project each year by providing time, talents and/or resources Establish one (1) collaborative project within identified priority areas through granting progress Continue dictionary distribution and coordinate with district and other clubs to reach 100% of Treasure Valley elementary schools Provide “pop up” opportunities for service, involvement and/or leadership

Promote our club’s involvement in Rotary International PUBLIC RELATIONS  Increase the awareness and understanding of Boise Sunrise Rotary and Rotary International 2016-2020 implementing steps: Promote our club’s involvement in Rotary International Promote the programs our club supports rather than seeking praise for ourselves (i.e., draft press releases exhorting the program to which we give support rather than the fact that we gave support) Improve internal communication to our members about what our club is doing Establish a robust Facebook page Attend other clubs to build networks

Partner with International Rotary Clubs INTERNATIONAL SERVICE Maintain a strong international focus and provide club members opportunities to participate in International service projects and Rotary Exchange programs 2016-2020 implementing steps: Partner with families and international communities to achieve self-sufficiency and build self-esteem in a reciprocal, sustainable fashion Partner with International Rotary Clubs Sponsor at least one out-bound exchange student Host at least one in-bound student exchange students Develop sustainable projects with refugee community

2016-2020 implementing steps: Raise $60,000 through FUND RAISING   Raise $60,000 annually to support giving, granting and service projects 2016-2020 implementing steps: Raise $60,000 through Sale of international merchandise Lobsterfest Jim McGuire Memorial Golf Tournament Develop transparent, accountable, and intentional systems to document fundraising Implement clear division of labor and responsible committee structure for implementation

Promote Every Rotarian/Every year FOUNDATION  To achieve a level of giving that makes Boise Sunrise #1 in per-capita giving in District 5400 2016-2020 implementing steps: Promote Every Rotarian/Every year Actively encourage all members to make a minimum of a $25/quarter donation to Rotary Foundation 85% of the members to be sustaining members ($100/year minimum) Top 10 in District 5400: # of Paul Harris Fellows / capita Polio Plus giving Greater Boise Rotary Foundation giving 65% of membership recognized as Paul Harris Fellows Use recognition points to encourage giving Strive to become 100% club

Monthly business classification talks VOCATIONAL SERVICES Promote ethics in business through the 4-way test and foster professionalism 2016-2020 implementing steps: Monthly business classification talks Support Rotary Ethics Award luncheon to assure its continuation Provide a diversity of meeting speakers to address professional and personal needs of members Foster an atmosphere of networking and mentorship among the members

CLUB ATTRIBUTES To be known as the most fun, friendly and diverse club in District 5400 2016-2020 implementing steps: Establish mentor program for new members Emphasize humor/early morning excitement Embrace diversity in all club membership attributes Co-sponsor one event with another Rotary Club Recognize involvement in committee work Place high priority on having quality programs at meetings
