Delegate Expectations Full participation LWF is full of awesome learning and social opportunities. We expect that every delegate participate fully in all aspects of the program Respect During this once in a lifetime opportunity, delegates will interact with people who may have different views from them and visit some of our nation’s most sacred sites. We expect all delegates to treat one another and their surroundings with the utmost respect. Flight FAQS Be at the airport 2 hours before your scheduled flight Meet your chaperone at the baggage check-in counter (Look for the green clover sign) Sunday July 16th - Depart SMF on Southwest Airlines flight 2663 at 6:20am. What are Breakout Sessions? Upon arrival on Monday each delegate will be randomly assigned to a breakout group, which allows for a mixture of delegates from different states in each group. The breakout sessions offered will include: What is a leader? How do leaders communicate with others? How do leaders influence others? How do you lead? How do you think critically? How will you make a difference? Vera

Journaling Journaling will give participants an opportunity to reflect on the day and what was experienced and learned. Each participant will be given a 4-H Journal & Pen to record their experiences on this trip. Vera

Dress Code Next to each event on the schedule you will find a dress code key. This key tells you what level of dress is most appropriate for its corresponding event. Casual dress indicates that delegates and chaperones wear clothes that that would normally wear for daily activities. Day one, two, and four of the schedule is designated as casual dress. T-shirts, jeans, shorts and tennis shoes or sandals are most often associated with this designation. Scott Business casual indicates that delegates and chaperones wear clothing that would be appropriate for an office setting. Days two and three of the schedule is designated as business casual. Skirts, dress slacks, khakis, polo shirts, or other collared shirts/blouses are most often associates with this designation. Delegates are encouraged to pack comfortable dress shoes for this day as there will be a fair amount of walking.

LWF dress indicates that delegates and chaperones will wear their LWF T-shirts and casual bottoms (jeans, shorts, etc.). Delegates will give their T-shirt size to their coordinator and receive them on Day one. Day four of the schedule is designated as LWF. Dressy Banquet dress indicates that delegates and chaperones will wear clothes similar to what would be worn to an evening event or nice restaurant. This category is very similar to Business casual with additions such as a tie, dresses, dinner jacket, and a little evening flare. Scott

Be sure that your clothing is not ripped in any way. It is important that delegates and chaperones adhere to the following guidelines for any dress code category: Be sure that the garment covers you appropriately (we discourage severely low neck lines, sagging pants and very thin shoulder straps) Be sure that your clothing is not ripped in any way. Be sure that your clothing is free of obscene speech or gestures Be sure that your clothing selections match the summer climate (the average summer temperature in Washington D.C. is 84 degrees) Be sure you pack, and wear, comfortable shoes Hats are not to be worn inside buildings Scott
