Outline of the Gospel of John 1. Ministry of John the Baptist and Jesus called His disciples. 2. Jesus turned water into wine. 3. Jesus met Nicodemus. 4. Jesus met the woman at the well. 5. Jesus healed the man at the Pool of Bethesda. 6. Jesus fed five thousand, and announced that He is the Bread from Heaven.

Jesus Expected Faith At every encounter Jesus expected a demonstration of faith.  In John 1 Jesus called His disciples. He expected His disciples to trust Him enough to forsake everything and follow Him.

Jesus Had Authority In John 2 Jesus turned water into wine. Jesus expected the servants to obey His command in order to turn the water into wine.

Jesus Witnessed In John 3 Jesus met Nicodemus. Jesus expected Nicodemus to believe Him and repent. Jesus explained in simple terms how important it was to believe on Him.

Only Believe John 3:16-18 KJV 16, For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17, For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18, He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Jesus Expected In John 4 Jesus met the woman at the well. Jesus expected the woman at the well to believe on Him, to repent of her sins, and to worship the true God in Spirit and truth.

Jesus Healed In John 5 Jesus healed the man at the Pool of Bethesda. Jesus asked the man at the Pool of Bethesda if he wanted to be made whole. Then He commanded the man to take up his bed and walk, verse 8.

Jesus Fed Five Thousand In John 6 Jesus fed five thousand and announced that He is the Bread from Heaven. Jesus took the little boy’s lunch. He expected the boy to trust Him with his lunch. He expected the people to believe that He was the bread of life.

The Faith of God God operates by faith. Nothing divine happens without faith. God created and upholds the worlds by faith. Mark 11:22, LITV, “And answering, Jesus said to them, Have faith of God.”

Jesus Saw Faith Jesus saw the faith of the men who let down a paralyzed man through the roof. Luke 5:19, “And when they could not find by what way they might bring him in because of the multitude, they went upon the housetop, and let him down through the tiling with his couch into the midst before Jesus.”

Luke 5:20-22 20, “And when he saw their faith, he said unto him, Man, thy sins are forgiven thee.” 21, “And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this which speaketh blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?” 22, “But when Jesus perceived their thoughts, he answering said unto them, What reason ye in your hearts?”

Luke 5:23-25 23, “Whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Rise up and walk?” 24, “But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power upon earth to forgive sins, (he said unto the sick of the palsy,) I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy couch, and go into thine house.” 25, “And immediately he rose up before them, and took up that whereon he lay, and departed to his own house, glorifying God.”

Only Believe Hebrews 11:6, “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” What is your personal level of faith?  Your actions demonstrate your level of faith.

We Are Filled With Faith Jesus is establishing His Kingdom in our midst. Jesus will dwell in and with His people. He came at Pentecost. The believers were filled with faith at Pentecost. Peter and John met the lame man at the gate of the temple and said, “Such as I have give I thee.”

We Have Confidence We have confidence in the promises of the Word. Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”

Let The Church Arise! I see God’s people rising up to do His pleasure. Romans 8:28, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

We Believe I see you believing God to protect and prosper you. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 16, “Rejoice evermore. 17, Pray without ceasing. 18, In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”

Rejoice I see you rejoicing, giving thanks and praying. I believe God to supply all your needs through Christ. Philippians 4:19, “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”

Worship God I see you worshipping God in Spirit and truth. John 4:24, “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”

By Faith We Overcome I see you overcoming the devil and every temptation. God is with you. God is in you. We will overcome the world by our faith. 1 John 5:4-5, “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. 5, Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?” That’s us!

We Are Overcomers What is the obstacle you face? We all have problems, but we overcome the problems in the name of the Lord. Revelation 3:21, “To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.”

The Anointing of Faith We have an anointing of faith because our God is faithful. We are demonstrators of faith. 1 Corinthians 2:4, “And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:”
