IMAGINE “Your husband will never be returning home…………..” Someone knocking at your door to inform…. “Your husband will never be returning home…………..”

The Importance of Safety Everyone who leaves for work in the morning should expect to return home at night in good health. Ensuring that husbands return to their wives, wives to their husbands, parents to their children, and friends to their friends — that is the most important reason to create a safe and healthy work environment. But it isn’t the only reason.

The Importance of Safety A serious workplace injury or death changes lives forever – Occupational injuries and illnesses can provoke major crises for the families in which they occur A Fatal accident normally does not happen suddenly. Let’s understand…..

3,000 Near Misses or First Aid The Hazard Pyramid 1 Fatal 30 Majors (LWCs and RWCs) 300 Recordable Injuries 3,000 Near Misses or First Aid 30,000 Hazards - Unsafe Acts - Employee-Created Unsafe Conditions

Focus on the Base of the Hazard Pyramid Hazards - Unsafe Acts - Employee-Created Unsafe Conditions Near-Misses or First Aid Recordable Injuries Majors (LWCs and RWCs) Fatal What we have also learned is that that world-class safety goes beyond an injury focus. In our hazard pyramid, you can see that reducing the number of hazards depicted at the bottom of the pyramid reduce the number of injuries and in the worst case – fatalities. (Take audience through example if have time.) By eliminating the hazards and near-misses at the bottom of the pyramid, companies see enormous improvements in workplace safety and corollary improvements in business performance.

System Delivery Plan The Hatch Health & Safety web is our primary tool for the storage of safety information such as policies, procedures, references, etc. It is located on our global intranet page and is the foundation on which we build our “Working Together Safely” program and our “Delivery Approach”

iPas SM (Safety Information Management System) Hatch iPas SM is the tool that Hatch uses for the management of safety related information. It provides a single source of consolidated, up-to-the minute, environmental, health and safety information, providing evidence of safety performance. .

The Working Together Safely Training Program (WTS)

Construction Safety Leadership Program (CSLP) CSLP is an outcomes based training package that endeavours to equip site management and supervision with the knowledge and skill to manage project safety in accordance with the Hatch global Health and Safety Standards and expectations.

Hatch Incident Management Process (HIMP) It leads to Effective management of incidents, root cause identification, implementation of sustainable preventative and corrective actions.
