What Are 3 elements fire needs in order to get started?

A Fire Needs… Oxygen Heat Flammable Substance

How do you put out a grease fire?

How do you put out a grease fire? Do NOT use a fire extinguisher. Put on oven mitts. Slide a cookie sheet over the pan. Do not remove or you will add oxygen to the fire!

Microwaves, toaster oven and other small appliances Keep the door to the microwave closed. Get everyone out of the house. Call 911 Use a cell phone to call the fire department What item should you never put in a microwave? Do not use water! Why?

Pay attention to the cleanliness and layout of your kitchen. Does your stove have grease built up on it? Where do you keep the paper towels? Where do you keep the hand towels? Do you have paper or mail around the areas you may cook? Is your smoke alarm close to the kitchen?

What is the proper attire when cooking?
