Business and the SDGs: Success stories of the UN Global Compact

THE JOURNEY THUS FAR “I propose that you, the business leaders … and we, the United Nations, initiate a global compact of shared values and principles, which will give a human face to the global market.” H.E. Kofi Annan “The United Nations and business need each other. We need your innovation, your initiative, your technological prowess. But business also needs the United Nations. In a very real sense, the work of the United Nations can be viewed as seeking to create the ideal enabling environment within which business can thrive.”  H.E. Ban Ki-moon “Since there can be no poverty eradication without generation of wealth, we should further promote the UN Global Compact, highlighting the mutual benefits of corporate responsibility.” SG-Elect Antonio Guterres

Achieving the SDGs through Partnership UN BUSINESS ACTION HUB business.un.org Slide 3: Your Journey to Partnership   Our job is to support on your UN business partnership journey. Lastly, I want to highlight a few specific resources we have available to help you obtain your ticket to partnership success. The UN-Business Action Hub is an online platform and a forum for business and UN agencies to connect and take action to advance the SDGs. Through the Hub, companies and other organizations can find partners for their own projects or join existing ones that address the SDGs and other societal issues. The Hub also provides a platform for companies to post their commitments and goals to advance the SDGs. The Partnership Passport is another resource to help you get started. The Partnership Passport is your guide to finding new partnerships and enhancing existing ones. With 10 inspiring examples of UN-Business collaboration, tip to plan your own partnerships, and directions for finding the most suitable UN partners to work with, it will help you to design your itinerary towards a UN business partnership.
