Condover Parish Neighbourhood Plan Developing the Vision Condover Parish Neighbourhood Plan

What is a vision? An overarching statement, or series of statements, describing what you want your neighbourhood area to be like at the end of the plan period It may cover what the area will look like what facilities will be needed what it will be like to live here, work here and visit here What infrastructure will be needed It should be concise and locally distinctive Aspirational but grounded Vision is achieved through setting objectives and delivering action plans

What the area will look like? Built environment Natural environment Leisure environment Street scene Facilities Required? Retail outlets Business services Access to health and care services Access to leisure Access to advice and support

What will it be like to live, work, visit here? Housing supply, type and location Employment opportunities Access to services and provision of amenities Nature of communities Communications and access to information Quality of life and experience What infrastructure will be needed? Housing and employment Roads and Transport Amenities and services Leisure and recreation Communications

For example…… “Our vision is to ….????... Condover Parish as a ….?????....parish, with a close supportive community at its heart, promote a sustainable thriving economy with a robust infrastructure and maintain the ..??.. and character of the …..???....and its rural and agricultural surroundings” The vision: Summarises and expresses the underpinning priorities for the Neighbourhood Plan Provides the base to inform objectives and delivery plans Serves as the reference point for evaluation of progress and delivery

Objectives Set out what you want to achieve in order to help make the ‘vision’ a reality For each element of the vision there may be one or a number of objectives Detailed policies and proposals will then follow from these objectives Objectives should have clear purpose and deliver outcomes Outcomes are things that have an impact – to keep things the same for a reason or to implement a change for a reason What the examiners are saying: “Together with the objectives, the vision establishes a framework for the rest of the Neighbourhood Plan and as one reads through, the link between the vision and the detailed policies of the Neighbourhood Plan is clear.”
