GLOBAL WARMING By Mason Allred

My Audience I am righting to the EPA. EPA stands for Environmental Protection Agency The EPA was created for protecting human health and the environment. The EPA rights and enforces regulations based on laws passed by congress.

Problem/Hypothesis The average temperature of the Earth is going up If we keep on burning fossil fuels then the atmospheric Carbon Dioxide concentration will increase because more Carbon Dioxide is being released into the air.

Research The Earth is 59 degrees Fahrenheit. Without green house gases the Earth would be 0 degrees Fahrenheit. Green house gasses are keeping the Earth but when release more green house gasses we are warming the Earth. Humans have increased the amount of CO2 concentration by more than a third since the the Industrial revolution started. About 90% of the Sun’s heat is absorbed by green house gases then radiated back to Earth. Even the rate of Earth’s heating is speeding up. All but one of Earth’s hottest years in NASA’s 134-year record have occurred since 2000.

Call to Action We are increasing the amount of green house gasses in the atmosphere by human activities. For example deforestation and driving. We can stop this by recycling more which will reduce the amount of trees the we have to cut down. We can reduce the amount of cars the road by carpooling with people and turning off your car when you are waiting for people.
