Adjectives are used to describe ___.

Adjectives are used to describe nouns.

In Spanish, adjectives must agree (match) in both number (singular/plural) and gender (masc./fem.) with the nouns they describe.

**There are a few exceptions:

Adjectives that naturally end in –a do not change for gender.

‘violeta’ and ‘rosa’ change form in number only.

Examples:

the purple student desks = los pupitres violetas.

EVEN THOUGH pupitre is masculine, the ‘a’ stays the same!

2. some pink books = unos libros rosas.

EVEN THOUGH libro is masculine, the ‘a’ stays the same!
