Early Human Societies, E01 Kind of like Lower Elementary Students

Hunter-Gatherer Hunted & gathered for their food, clothing, & shelter Always moving around, Nomads Lived in groups called bands (not rock bands) Migration of people & exchange of ideas Looking for food Better climate “So where do you want to go to lunch?”

Tools Fire, “Ouch! That’s hot!” light, protection, cooking, making metal Technology: the way people apply knowledge to make something Purpose of tools?

Early Human Culture Language: spoken before written, no email Religion: animist (worship of spirits in things, i.e. Starbucks Coffee) Art: cave painting, like drawings in the bathroom…no way! Jewelry, figurines, costumes Signs of sophisticated society
