What is Research? A dictionary definition is: Investigation, a study to discover facts In discovering the Facts the process must be: Honest Repeatable Rigorous Safe Communicable

Through out the period of research you will be developing your career path And hopefully at the end of the research you will be able to commercialise your findings

How do I Research? Research is built on existing knowledge: Other peoples work “Standing on the shoulders of Giants “ Isaac Newton But it must be unique to you Copy one it’s plagiarism, copy many it’s research Correct Citation and you must be able to Communicate the results of the work by publication and development of the thesis

It is the most important element of the research In progressing your research you will have to initially develop the research question. It is the most important element of the research After all it only takes six weeks to research a PhD, BUT 2 years to decide what your doing And 2 years to write it up
