Things Settled In Heaven Psalms 119:89 “ For ever, O Lord, thy word is settle in heaven”.

Introduction God’s word is determined, fixed, cannot be altered! “God’s word, and His truth and faithfulness, upon which His laws are founded, are as fixed as the heaven and the earth; for they owe their durability to the same word and truth” “established in God’s presence beyond the possibility of change” God’s laws stand! Men will fail who attempt to change what God has determined The Bible is God’s revealed will to man 1 Corinthians 2:9-16 – “…. For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of the Christ.” Man is not capable of guiding himself Proverbs 14:12 – “There is a way which seems right unto a man, but the end thereof are the way of death.” Mans is warned by God not to tamper with His word Revelation 22:18-19

Jesus Said… “And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven” Matthew 16:19 “Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into” 1 Peter 1:12 “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you” John 14:26 “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come” John 16:13

What to Preach is Settled… Gospel – Truth – The Word Mark 16:16 – “He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.” 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 – Death – Burial - Resurrection Galatians 1:6-8 – “I marvel that you are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel, which is not another, but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which was preached unto you, let him be accursed.” 2 Timothy 4:1-4 –”Preached the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers having itching ears.” Matthew 15:8-9- “This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honor me with their lips; but their hearts are far from me. But in vain do they worship me teaching for doctrine the commandments of men.”

Who is to Preach is Settled… Apostles – Men – Mark 16: 15-16 2 Timothy 2:1-2 – “Thou therefore my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witness, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.” 1 Timothy 2:11-14 – “Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor usurp authority over man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, than Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived, was in transgression.”

What constitutes Sin is Settled… 1 John 5:17 – “All unrighteousness is sin; and there is a sin not to death.” 1 John 3:4 – “Whosoever committed sin transgresseth the law; for sin is the transgression of the law.” James 4:17 – “Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.” Romans 3: 23 – “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”

The Remedy for Sin Settled… The Blood of Christ Matthew 26:28 “For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remissions of sins.” Romans 5:8- 9 – “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.” Hebrews 5:8-9 – “Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by things which he suffered; and being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him.” 1 John 1:7 – “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.”

Worship is Settled… Must worship God’s way John 4:24 – God is a Spirit and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and truth.” Acts 2:42 – “and they continued steadfastly in the apostles doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking bread, and in prayers.” Ephesians 5:19 – “speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord.” Acts 20:7 – “upon the first day of the week, the disciples came together to break bread.” 1 Corinthians 16:1-2 – “Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, even so do ye. Upon the first day of the week, let every one of you to lay by him in store, as God has prospered him, that there be non gathering when I come.”

Work is Settled… Divine Pattern 2 Timothy 3:16-17 – “All scripture is given by the inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.” 1 Timothy 3:15 – “…..that thou may know how to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the pillar and ground of the truth.” Ephesians 4:15-16 – “But speak the truth in love, that we may grow up in him in all things, which is the head, even Christ. From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.”

Our Attitude on What is Settled? Let It be… “If God Said it, I believe it, that settles it!” “Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men” - Acts 5:29

What Must I Do To Be Saved? Hear The Gospel – Romans 10: 17 “Faith Comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.” Believe The Gospel – Mark 16: 16 “ He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved, and he that believeth not shall be damned.” Repent of Sins – Luke 13: 3 “Repent or You will Perish Confess Christ – Romans 10: 9-10 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God raised him from the dead, thou shall be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteous; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Be Baptized – Acts 2: 38 “Repent and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
