The EGI Training Infrastructure http://go.egi.eu/traininginfra Overview The infrastructure is hosted as a dedicated resource pool – a Virtual Organisation – on the EGI Federated Cloud. The infrastructure is suitable for face-to-face events, online training courses (Webinar, MOOC) and self-paced learning modules. The infrastructure is integrated with the EGI ‘per-user robot subproxy’ solution to generate personal and short-living access credentials for trainers and trainees. The infrastructure is available through API and command-line access, and can be extended with high-level, graphical interfaces. The infrastructure is offered for members and partners of EGI by the ‘Knowledge Commons’ work package of the EGI-Engage project. Use cases Courses about ‘Infrastructure as a service’ clouds and application development on such clouds. Courses about cloud federations, demonstrating capabilities, such as cloud bursting, intra-cloud data transfer, coordinated VM image deployment. PaaS and SaaS software trainings. In this operational mode the trainers deploy custom Virtual Machine images on the training infrastructure before the course.
